Antique Road Show.
Seriously.
I went to the Alameda Flea Market today, and it was amazing. I spent a couple hours just roaming the isles looking at booth after booth of colored glass ware, vintage toys, and shabby-chic furniture. However what shocked me wasn't at the fair. It was a suburban neighborhood that was built along side the road that took you too the fair.
Maybe it was Alameda that was unique, or maybe I'm not used to seeing such cookie-cutter suburban sprawl so close to San Francisco. I know the Sunset and parts of the Richmond are dubbed cookie-status, but this was a full fledged 'Agrestic' neighborhood - in Alameda. So weird. On the way back from the market, I noticed an alternative housing development. Left over army homes for the troop families have been turned into public housing, a community parallel to the Agrestic hood. Even more weird.
I did find a gold bracelet at the fair.

IQ Test.
Answer any of all of the questions below.
Have you:
Picked your nose and whipped your findings on the nearest surface?
Stepped in dog shit?
Put something in your mouth and wished you didn't?
Felt incredibly attractive?
Felt a hot mess?
Kicked someone?
Been slapped?
Put your foot in your mouth?
Said something you'd like to take back?
Auditioned for the Real World?
Just wondering...

Winter $oup.
I made a soup the other night, and that shit turned out hella bomb! [Translation: the soup tasted divine]. It was a cross between a stew/soup, but read, try, and enjoy.
Ingredients:
1 Medium Yellow Onion
1 Sweet Potato
1+ Zucchini
1/2 bunch Rainbow Chard
1 Lg can of San Marzano Tomatoes
1/2 Cup of Barley
1 tbs. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon Chile de Arbol
1/2 bunch fresh Thyme
2 Bay Leaves
4 leaves of fresh Sage
Salt and Pepper to taste
First, put 1/2 cup of barley and 1 cup of water in a small pot and bring to a boil. Once water heats, drop the flame immediately and allow to simmer for about 40 minutes.
In a separate pot, heat the olive oil. Chop garlic and throw in pot to brown. Coarsely chop the onions (so they are apart of the soup and not just a flavor component). Throw onions in pot and allow to sweat for 2 minutes. Peel and cut sweet potato into 1/4 thick and 1"x1" wedges; throw in pot, allow to cook additional 2 minutes. Cut zucchini into 1/3" thick half circles, and throw into pot. Now salt and pepper the veggies to taste, about 4 turns of a pepper mill and 1/2 ts. of salt. Cut chard leaves into ribbons about 1/2" thick and put in pot, include the stalks (so yummy). Now add the herbs; fresh sage and thyme are highly recommended, and the alternatives can very from whatever is in your pantry. I also added some chili flake, cumin, and coriander. Again, salt and pepper to taste. Once potatoes have softened, and chard has wilted a little, add the can of tomatoes and barley. Also a tomato can's worth of water along with two bay leaves, stir, cover the soup and allow to simmer for 20 minutes.
Plate and add some chopped Italian parsley and Parmesan cheese. Enjoy.

Milk, Part Deux
I saw Milk for the second time yesterday, and I'd just like to admit a couple things.
Watching Milk made me:
Watching Milk made me:
- cry. And I happened to shed tears at the very same scene - both screenings.
- want to fall in love.
- want to get involved in a movement.
- want to get involved in politics, preferably local.
- believe that following through on your belief's is honorable.
- realize that you should never back down from what you think is right/wrong.
- realize that change, revolution, does not come easy - hard work is necessary, relationships lost may be a casualty.
I'm not mad.

Boo-hoo. Katy Perry and Travis McCoy broke up. This of course is an assumption made by the post that Travis wrote on his blog stating: "My laptop is my new bitch. LOYAL. LISTENS. AND NEVER LETS ME DOWN." Yikes, someones bummin hard over this breakup. I suspect that Katy Perry just got too famous and wanted an upgrade. Come here Travis, let me nurture you..

What do you think of Caroline Kennedy being Sen. of NY?

Hillary Clinton might not have won the presidency but she did make it into the White House, and thus her seat as New York Senator must be filled; Caroline K. submitting her name as a candidate. She'll have to prove herself to those who question her qualifications, besides being a part of the most popular and famous political family in American Politics.
Until now, her image is flawless, but that is because she is a Kennedy and not yet a politician. She is riding on the legacy of her father (JFK) and the popularity of Uncle (Ted). The current Governor of New York, David Paterson, holds Kennedy's name high on the list because Hillary wished for another woman to fill her seat as Senator, and Caroline has some strong connection that might be helpful necessary to raise the $70 million to campaign.
Peterson and Kennedy will both have to run in 2010 to actually fill the seats, because they're both replacements - Paterson stepping for Spitzer after the prostitute scandal in early 2008.
Pops asked me my opinion on the matter. I realized that I was indifferent about her qualifications: she's a democrat and she campaigned for Obama, so she's good in my book. I also recognized that if this tables were turned and this was a Republican situation, I would be outraged. With that, I am aware of the double standard here and look forward to learning more about her position on climate change, public transit, and public education. Holler
