What never was, thank god!

Imagine each of these rainbow lines being a double decker freeway. IMAGINE IT!!!!!! Think of how fugly this city would be. Well this was the vision for the Sco in the 1950's and 1960's in order to accomodate the rising popularity of the automobile. Many of the one-way streets in the city were the potential locations for inner city freeway's, Fell and Oak being an example. That means, I would be living across from a freeway instead of the majestic mini central park dubbed the Panhandle. Take the Ferry Building for example, it used to be behind a double decker freeway, and it was pretty much abandoned. Now, think of the FB now, bougie as hell! Can you imagine sippin your blue bottle or dining on oysters under a freeway? Disgusting.
