JAY-Z 9-11 CONCERT.

ECO-ROYALTY: JAY-Z EDITION. IT'S THE ROC!

Hot Damn. I wake up this morning from a gigantic thunderstorm. What is thunder without lightning? Or is it that the lightning is so close that the thunder and lightning sounds are one in the same? Either way, I awoke to a blackout. I check the iPhone, and the Internets were a buzz with two stories - the thunder storm in SF and the thunder in NYC - Jay-Z.

Jay hosted a star-studded concert last night, why didn't I know? Dannggg, you KNOW I woulda made it happen to see that -ish.

Beyonce performed 'Diva' and that was a hot set, "no passengers on my plaaaaannnneeee"
Mary J came out, so NYC. She's got that classy/thug love flava that cannot be met, and a voice with so much soul she'll make you cry (minus the Drake collabo). Iconic.
Diddy sneak attacked the crowd at the end, and Jay had to stop the show, he felt that the crowd didn't welcome Diddy correctly. "Hold up, hold up, hold up. This is NEW YORK right here! I don't think they're ready..."
Kanye/RiRi came out for the "Run this Town" set, props. Ok, ok, I'm starting to like that song..
and how is it that John Mayer always shows up.

Jay played every song that slapped in his career. I realized that I have been listening to him for a HOTTTT minute! At the very end Jay had a moment of (not so) silence for those who lost their lives eight years ago. To close the show he shouted out members of the audience,
"dude in the green shirt, I see ya! ...
Girl in the Jay-Z shit, what up! ....
Lil dudes over there, where yo mama at, it's kinda late!"

I don't think he necessarily earns the title of "King", but mos def one of the most influential dudes in Hip Hop/music right now, partly because he's one of the last standing.

Jay Z was recently on Letterman. A man of few words...
