I'm so tired of being good..

Cry Baby, released in 1990 stars the young Johnny Depp and Ricki Lake. Eye candy galore in this film, from the actors to the outfits, this cheesy movie is one of my favorite movies of all time.

WAVVES

I missed the show, but I will always have YouTube... this dude is boyfriend to my fave band Best Coast. It totally sounds like the boy version of BC too.

NYC: Fresh2Death

Is it just me, or does her outfit make her seem burlier than he?
They compliment each other quite well.

Diva Spotlight: Mya

Her dance breaks are soooo 90's. She kind of reminds me of a light-weight Aaliyah and I have to admit, Mya comes off SUPER duper cheezy in most of her videos.

Sick remix, awful video - one of the worst. yeesh.

The Four Effs

FaceBook, Phone, FourBarrel.

This is actually a Facebook ad, but the product placement in it shows specific motifs. Four Barrel, the Mission roastery/coffee shop is the local celebrity highlighted in the ad, but iPhones are also in an unspoken spotlight. Is the Facebook/iPHone combo an intentional pair? There is, however, no question about the use of 4B, that coffee shop just is that cute.

Oakland Art Murmur

I'm tellin' you, this city - is poppin. Oakland was alive and kicking last Friday night. The streets were filled with artists and intellects, street carts and street diners. The sun was out, but setting. The streets were busting and the galleries were overflowing. It just had a good vibe with some good art, and provided good people watching. The art sold on the street by local artisans was unique and inexpensive. The Murmur is brought to an end with a bunch of music shows at nearby venues. I can't wait for my next Murmur adventure.

Still <3 'ing Oakland.

Hacienda Weekend

I spent last weekend on a Hacienda. It was actually a party thrown by 18 Reasons at Scribe Winery. The catch-phrase for 18 Reason reads: 18 Reasons: Art. Community. Food. Engaging our Community through Food and Art. Yes, yes they did engage me in food and art, and in the middle of nowhere nonetheless. 18 Reasons is apart of the Bi-Rite company and is located on Gurrero and 18th in San Francisco.

It was a truly unique experience, that can barely be communicated through photo let alone words. The Hacienda was a throwback to Spanish architecture done right in this country. Driving up to Scribe, we passed many winery's that mock the 'chateau' look, but ultimately look ridiculous and much more like a super-sized McMansion. This house was falling apart in all the right ways, and in each room there was an artistic surprise. Typewriters filled one room, an absinthe station rested in another, with little instillation's running amok in every nook and cranny available. There was music that spontaneously started, and food was being made and served up until the break of dawn, no joke.

My friends and I decided to camp, as did many others. It was a wonderful night, attracting a unique melange of people - many involved in art and food - kids and dogs alike. Waking up on a field was amazing. The thick but familiar fog hugged me as I exited the tent, and a warm breakfast awaited us back at the Hacienda.

Please, try to picture this in your head, I find myself reminiscing this weekend often.

The next day:

Wait, how'd I end up here?
