I'm not gonna lie - I usually end up hearing a song that has been remixed, and never the original. First example would be 'Mo money mo problems,' and was perplexed when my mom started to sing along with the chorus, telling me that it's actually an old song made into a new.
Ok, that is sooo 90's. Now artists will remake contemporary songs from another genre of music into their own. The most memorable are when indie bands chose to unmask a pop-hit. So I wasn't surprised when I put my iPod on at work, and my co-worker yelled that my jam was actually not an original.
Cee Lo and Band of Horses. Again, not gonna lie - I prefer Cee Lo's version. I think his remix is dark and honest. Maybe I'm just not a hippie music emo chick. This is a true fact. Both are great.
